Day 5 on the PCT

When we left Pioneer Mail at 6 am, we had hiked a total of 52.7 miles. The sunrise was too good to pass up. We spent a lot of time taking pictures before we walked any miles.

Just Kidding and Gottago walking alongside a remarkable wall.

On our way to Rodriguez Spur we ran into this little creature…

Love that Gottago bathes at every opportunity…

The quality of rest on our breaks is the ultimate relaxation. For doers, movers and shakers, when we break after miles and miles of backpacking we are peaceful sitting on our pads doing nothing. We are relaxed, giddy and free. Our feet are up and life is good.

Gottago and I hussled the last 4 miles to Rodriguez Spur – our camp spot for the night. Nothing like some healthy competition to give us incentive to move.

We enjoyed the lighting and scenery after we treated water from a tank, pitched our tents and ate dinner with Pockets and Waldo. Everybody was farting around eachother. Sign of letting go of societal constraint – that’s for sure!
